LUST AND PRIDE

Author: Voice Of God Ministry  //  Category: Youth Life

Lust and pride is the root of sin and evil which leads away from the Lord.
•    Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death. Jems 1-15
•    But I say unto you, that whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.Mat:6.25  But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof Rom :13-14
•    For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would .Galatians: 5.17
•    If my step hath turned out of the way, and mine heart walked after mine eyes, and if any blot hath cleaved to mine hands; Then let me sow, and let another eat; yea, let my offspring be rooted out.. If mine heart have been deceived by a woman, or if I have laid wait at my neighbour’s door;.

Then let my wife grind unto another, and let others bow down upon her.Job:31:7-10 .  What about us my dear brother and sister and this is the mark of spirituality by the old covenant believer. Hence  our standard to be still high. .
In Mark 7:21, Jesus listed evil thoughts as the first things that proceed from the heart of men. The hearts of all unconverted men are equally wicked and so the description Jesus gave is true of all. Unclean thoughts plague the mind of the morally upright man as much as they do the mind of the adulterer – even though lack of opportunity and fear of society may have prevented the former from committing adultery in the flesh. No one can serve for both flesh and sprit. Hence Spirit against the flesh.
Two things are mentioned in the Bible about the 30 years that Jesus spent in Nazareth. First of all, in Hebrews 4:15, we are told that He was tempted as we are and never sinned. From that, we learn that He must have faced many temptations during those 30 years at Nazareth – the same temptations that anyone faces during the first 30 years of his life – from childhood to adulthood.
If you are not faithful in your relationship with the opposite sex, don’t dishonour God’s name by trying to be an elder or a leader. Don’t fool the people that you are a holy man of God, when you are living in sin. God will expose you publicly one day, if you continue to live like that.

You may think you are clever enough to hide your sin. But you are not clever enough for God. He will expose you more than you have ever been exposed thus far and anointed preachers are so humble and pure. .
A disciple is a learner and a follower of the Lord Jesus. He is one who has made Jesus his Example and seeks to conformhis life to his Master’s in every possible way. Like charity, discipleship also begins at home, first of all. Before marriage lust with opposite sex and start the lover business is evil before GOD eyes.

It will spoil your spiritual life and induce your ungodlylife. If Joseph and Mary start love business before marriage can God select them? What a fool Christian to day? Nowa days most of the diverse in Christian family is due to this reason .Without knowing their parents, without knowing God’s will they start their own willing in a bad way like Samson and lost their God’s willing and forget their anointing  Grace of Lord.. Moreover, you don’t know what may be happen to you tomorrow.

Don’t ignore Almighty God and his plan for you and don’t spoil other’s life lead to confutation stage please for you flesh and own willing..
If any boy or girl will follow the example of the Lord that we have looked at in the above two areas, he too will grow in wisdom and in favour with God – as it is written about Jesus Himself (Luke 2:52).We need to distinguish however between temptation and sin.

Even Jesus was tempted “in every respect as we are” (Heb. 4:15)But He never once yielded to temptation (even in His mind) and so never sinned. We too shall be tempted till the last day of our life on earth. But we need not sin. We sin only when the evil desire is permitted to conceive in our minds (James 1:15),
i.e. when we accept the lustful thought flashed into our minds. If we reject the suggestion at once, we do not sin.

As the old Puritan said, “While I cannot prevent the birds from flying over my head, I can prevent them from making a nest in my hair”. When an evil thought presents itself to us, if we cherish it even for a moment in our minds, we allow it to “make a nest” there and so sin.
And have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution ariseth for the word’s sake, immediately they are offended. And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word, mark 4.17-18For when we were in the flesh, the motions of sins, which were by the law, did work in our members to bring forth fruit unto death Rom 7:5
How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 2 Thi  4-3  Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringethforth death. Jems 1-15 .Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which ewar against the soul;1 peter 2-11 that heard him Hebrews2-3
That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God. 1 pet 4-2 And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints, To execute judgment upon all, and to convince that entire are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.
Samson and his weakness
Samson was born. The Lord blessed him and the Spirit of God began to move upon him (Judges 13:25) – the anointing – that was the secret of the power of all these leaders. But unfortunately we read that Samson also backslid, very early in his life. Whenever he saw a pretty woman, he just could not control his lusts.

He would forget all about his calling to serve the Lord and would go after that woman whether she was a Jew or a Gentile made no difference to him, so long as she was good-looking! This was his weakness throughout his life. God used him no doubt, but he had a tremendous weakness for pretty women – like many a preacher today.

Samson’s behaviour stands in great contrast to Joseph’s. Joseph lived before the Law was given and had much less revelation on God’s ways than Samson had. Yet he stood true to God repeatedly – and has, therefore, been an outstanding example for young men for thousands of years. Samson, on the other hand has been an equally outstanding warning to all men for thousands of years!
Power and disobedience
We read in Judges 14:5,6, “Samson went down to Timnah and a young lion came roaring towards him and the Spirit of the Lord came upon him mightily so that he caught the lion and tore the lion to pieces.” Like we would tear up a piece of paper, Samson tore up that lion to pieces. He was so humble about it that he didn’t tell anyone– not even his father and mother.

Samson knew that it was the power of the Holy Spirit that had enabled him to do that. In Judges 14: 10, we read that his father went down to meet the Philistine woman whom Samson liked and got Samson married to her. This was a direct disobedience of God’s Law that had clearly commanded that the Israelites were never to marry non-Israelites.
Samson’s up and down life destroy himself..
Samson’s was an up-and-down life – sometimes up but mostly down. We read in Judges 16:1 that he went down to Gaza. He saw a harlot there and liked her and committed fornication with her. When he was caught, he pulled out the gates of the city and walked off with them! Later, he met another Philistine woman called Delilah and fell in love with her (Judges16:4).

God must have spoken to his conscience many a time, but he would not listen. He probably rejoiced in the fact that God was USING him – just like many do today. Many will come to the Lord in the last day and remind Him of the time He had used them in various ministries. But the Lord will cast all of them into hellfire, because they lived in sin in their private lives (Matt.7:22,23). If we keep on rejecting God’s gentle warnings to our conscience, we too can destroy ourselves like all those preachers.
Samson final days.
Samson finally put his head on Delilah’s lap and revealed the secret of his strength to her. She cut off his hair promptly and that was the end of his ministry. What a tragedy! A man who was such a mighty deliverer, was enslaved to his own lusts and passions.

Paul says in 1Corinthians 9:27, “It is possible for me to preach to others and still be disqualified myself, if I don’t keep my body in subjection.” The Living Bible paraphrases that verse as, “making my body do what it should do, and not what it wants to do.” That means that we are to make our body eat what it should eat and not what it wants to eat; sleep as much as it should sleep, and not how much it wants to sleep.

We must control our eyes so that they look only at what they should look at and not at what they want to look at. We must control our tongues so that they speak what they should speak and not what they want to speak.
If we don’t control our bodily passions, we may preach wonderful messages and yet be cast out by the Lord in the final day. So much depends on our disciplining our bodily passions. That is the message we get from the story of Samson who had a wonderful ministry that blessed so many people, but finally he himself was disqualified.

So many great preachers have fallen a prey to pretty women. Don’t be impressed by the gifts that such men exercise or by the vastness of their organisations!! A leader falling into sin is a far more serious thing than an ordinary believer falling into the same. To whom more is given, from them more is required as well.

Pride
The first and foremost sin that we commit is the lusts and immediately pride enter in to our heart then God against us and grace gone away we will became a satan. It is the realism of Lucifer; the great angel became evil satan. How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, who didst rise in the morning? How art thou fallen to the earth that didst wound the nations? Isaiah 14:12
Then, the equal dangers for us are the Pride. It may be flesh Pride or spiritual pride. Pride will make us lose the grace of God, even if we do not lose our gifts . The grace and anointing of God will be absent from our lives. When Lucifer sinned, he lost his anointing, but he did not lose his supernatural gifts.

He has those gifts even today. This should be a warning to anyone who glories in his gifts or ministry. Immature believers (who cannot distinguish between grace and gifts) may flatter us and tell us that the “anointing of God” is still upon us, King soul life it was actually happen by thinking anointing of God is still upon him But he   lost his anointing   When the blessing of the Lord comes upon our life and labours, we face many dangers. Knowingly or unknowingly it destroyed many of us especially including in the spiritual area.

Whenever God blesses us, Satan will tempt us to compare our spiritual growth, special talent on church activity,  and our ministry with that of others such as we are better than others. God opposes every proud person – believer or unbeliever.

So we are safe only if we keep our face in the dust before God always. No one is better than Jesus. And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life? And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? There is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.
When the blessing of the Lord comes upon our life and labours, we face many dangers Pride is more dangerous than adultery because adultery is an outward sin – and sins that are outward and obvious are not as serious as sins that are hidden. Obadiah warns those who are complacent in their pride that they are deceived. Let us learn from his brief exhortation to be concerned about those around us, who are in captivity to their flesh, and to proclaim to them that Jesus can deliver them completely!
Sins of commission and sins of omission
There are sins of commission as well as sins of omission. Often when we think of sin, we think only of the sins that have been committed. Notice, in the story of the Good Samaritan, that the priest and Levite did not commit any sin. They did not beat up the wounded man. Their sin was that they did not lift a finger to help that needy man. Do we realise that not helping a needy person is a sin? That is a sin of omission
Edom’s fall
What was the cause of Edom’s fall? “The pride of your heart has deceived you” (v.3). When we are proud, we open ourselves to spiritual deception – because pride is the very nature of Satan, the deceiver. The moment you become proud of something – good looks, intelligence, spirituality, Bible knowledge, anything – immediately the devil holds your hand and says, “You and I are in fellowship now.” Jesus Christ, on the other hand, was the humblest Man that walked on earth; and the moment you humble yourself, you come into fellowship with Him
Faith basically believes that God still loves us. He does not love our sin. He does not want us to continue in our sin. He is like a father who sees his child’s diseases and hates those diseases, but loves his child. Think of a mother who sees her child full of leprosy or tuberculosis. That mother loves her child so much, but hates those diseases with all her heart.
God loves sinners but He hates their sin. We see God’s love for sinners and His hatred of sin on Calvary’s cross. His love for sinners is seen in that He allowed Jesus to die on the cross for us. His hatred of sin is seen in His turning His face away from Jesus when Jesus bore the sin of the world on the cross.
People sometimes ask how a God of love can send people to Hell. What is Hell like? Hell is a place that God has forsaken completely – a place where God cannot be found. This earth has not been forsaken by God. That’s why there’s still so much of goodness and beauty on this earth.

Look at the beauty of creation, for example. Look at the decency and goodness there is in many human beings. Demons would like to possess ALL human beings, but they are unable to, because God has put a restraining wall around people, so that demons cannot do what they like. It is God’s mercy also that gives man health, prosperity and many other comforts.

All these blessings are bestowed by God on both good and evil people. All this proves that God has not forsaken this world. But Hell is not like that. In Hell there is no mercy at all – because Hell is a truly God-forsaken place. There is goodness in many unconverted people in this world, because the influences of God are still over them. But once they go to Hell, those very same people will become as evil as the devil himself – because the mercy of God will no longer be over their lives.
In Hell, people will experience for the first time what it is like to be totally forsaken by God. That was what Jesus experienced on the cross. Jesus experienced Hell on the cross for those three hours of darkness, when God actually forsook Him. There we see how much God hates sin.
So what is the answer? Can a God of love send people to Hell? The answer to that lies in the answer to this other question: Could a God of love allow His own Son to face Hell on the cross, when the sin of the world was upon Him? If He could do that, He can send people to Hell too. A God of love will turn His face away from those who continue in sin, who say to God, “I am not going to listen to you. I have chosen my own way and I will continue along it forever.”

Failing and rebelling.
The Bible says in Proverbs 29:1 (paraphrased) “A man who is corrected many times and refuses to accept correction will one day suddenly be destroyed and he will not have another chance”.

If a man keeps on refusing God’s loving invitations, he is in real danger. Now I don’t want any of you over-sensitive brothers and sisters to feel condemned hearing that – because that verse was not written for those who fall into sin, but to warn those who love to sin and who want to continue in it. It was not written for those who try to live in purity but keep falling. It was written for rebels, who defy God and want to keep on sinning.

How can you know whether you are a rebel? That’s very easy to find out. Just ask yourself whether you have a desire to repent and to turn back to God? If there’s even the slightest desire within you to turn to God and to love Him, then that proves that the Holy Spirit is still working in your life and that God is seeking to draw you to Himself. You may be a failure, but you are not a rebel.

There is a vast difference between one who is failing and one who is rebelling.
In Job 35:12  There they cry, but none giveth answer, because of the pride of evil men. His scales are his pride, shut up together as with a close seal. The crown of pride, the drunkards of Ephraim, shall be trodden under feet.

Isaiah 28:3.This shall they have for their pride, because they have reproached and magnified themselves against the people of the Lord of hosts. Zephaniah 2:10. Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil. 1 Timothy 3:6 We have heard of the pride of Moab; he is very proud: even of his haughtiness, and his pride, and his wrath: but his lies shall not be so.

Therefore shall Moab howl for Moab, every one shall howl: for the foundations of Kir–hareseth shall ye mourn; surely they are stricken. Isaiah 16:6-7 And I will break the pride of your power; and I will make your heaven as iron, and your earth as brass: And your strength shall be spent in vain: for your land shall not yield her increase, neither shall the trees of the land yield their fruits. Leviticus 26:19-20. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. 1 John 2:16
Lucifer was more gifted, more beautiful and had more supernatural abilities than all the other angels. He led the angels in the worship of God – until pride entered his heart. He then began to think, “Only One Person is above me, and that is God Himself. I will rule over Him as well.”
Finally,
In Daniel 4.3 I Nebuchadnezzar praise and extol and honour the King of heaven, all whose works are truth, and his ways judgment: and those that walk in pride he is able to abase. How long does it take for an angel to become a devil? Not even one second. Just  a moment. How long does it take for a really good person to become like the devil? Just a moment. That’s all. Remember that. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen
